The Slender Man Myth was first discovered on the SomethingAwful forums. It tells of a paranormal shapeshifter who takes on the singular form of a tall, slender, faceless, bald-headed, suited man and uses light and shadow to stalk, terrorize, and in a few cases kill his victims. The reason Slender Man is so important in the Marble Hornets story is that it is generally believed that he appears as the subject of many of The Entries and may have been the cause of Alex Kralie's paranoia. He also seems to be the main subject of the side-stories Slender Hunter and Just Another Fool.
Slender Man Myth
'The Slender Man' was the nickname given to a mysterious character seen in the background of several pictures in a SomethingAwful thread. The posts themselves were centered around children, and a certain man with a slender figure in the background of several pictures, sometimes appearing to have long, spindly, tentacle-like extraneous appendages.
The Slender Man was discovered at the Something Awful Forums in a thread centered around photos from a singular fire which killed many children in the '80s. He is described as wearing a black suit and black hat and as the name suggests, appears very thin and able to stretch his limbs and torso to inhuman lengths in order to induce fear and ensnare his prey. Once his arms are outstretched, his victims are put into something of a hypnotized state, where they are utterly helpless to stop themselves from walking into them.
"we didn't want to go, we didn't want to kill them, but its persistent silence and outstretched arms horrified and comforted us at the same time…"
1983, photographer unknown, presumed dead.
Whether he absorbs, kills, or mearly takes his victims to an undiclosed location or dimension is also unknown as there are never any bodys or evidence left behind in his wake to deduce a definite conclusion. Not much is known at this time, but his objective and habitat are fairly clearly agreed-upon. He has the need to kidnap children, and is seen right before the disappearance of a child or multiple children. He seems to prefer fog enshrouded streets and wooded areas as a way to conceal himself from being noticed. It should also be noted that children have been able to see him when no other adults in the vicinity could, though adults have also been known to see him at times. Children also have dreams or nightmares concerning The Slender Man before their disappearance. A disputed concept regarding the Slender Man is whether or not he can be seen by those other than his victims—many believe that if you see Slender Man then you are a target or prey, though there is no certain proof of this.
Two recovered photographs from the Stirling City Library blaze. Notable for being taken the day which fourteen children vanished and for what is referred to as "The Slender Man". Deformities cited as film defects by officials. Fire at library occurred one week later. Actual photograph confiscated as evidence.
1986, photographer: Mary Thomas, missing since June 13th, 1986.

Appearances
First seen in Entry 1, the Slender Man is seen to be standing outside Alex's house.
Though not seen in Entry 2, Alex talks about seeing a man at the roadside on his way back to his house from the Marble Hornets set.
This man is most likely the Slender Man.
In Entry 4, glimpses are seen of a man running past the camera; again, this is most likely the Slender Man.
Entry 6, thought to be a direct continuation from Entry 1, shows the Slender Man looking through the windows of Alex's House.
In Entry 7 Slender Man appears in the distance, observing the car that Alex is in, previously being hidden from the camera (and, supposedly, Alex) by Brian's head, though it is apparent that Slender Man was not in that position a few seconds earlier.
In Entry 10 the Slender Man appears twice: once at 0:50, behind some tall grass, and at 1:22 on the far right of the screen.
Entry 11 has a spot of light, possibly that of a shirt collar(0:33) and the silhouette of a man(0:105 appear either inside or outside of one of Alex's windows, and a shadow and gust of wind inside Alex's bedroom(1:55), all most likely cause by Slender Man. In this Entry, certain drawings on the wall imply that the Slender Man is somehow related to totheark.
Slender Man seems to have first appeared to Alex in Entry 12, when he appears in broad daylight to the actors and producers of Alex's movie, interrupting their shoot.
In Entry 13 Alex seems to run into Slenderman, either by accident or not. Slenderman is also seen behind a fence just before the audio and video go wonky.
Entry 14 has Slenderman actually enter Alex's room, presumably to do something, as Alex is seen later with blood covering his face and staring at something across the room.
Entry 17 he appears outside the window located behind Tim from 0:14 until the distortion comes in.
Return Video four seconds into the video he emerges from around a corner and approaches the camera.
Appearances in Slender Hunter
Appearances in Just Another Fool
In the Just Another Fool side-game, the Slender Man reportedly slew Matt's entire squad (save himself) and after hurtling many of the bodies into a tree, he set them ablaze. He also supposedly killed two civilian children at the same time. This, however, is the story that Matt reportedly made up because he lost his mind when a terrorist bomb carried by one of the two dead children slew his squad. Apparently one of the soldiers was researching the Slender Man prior to the ambush, giving Matt's mind demonic inspiration.
Slender Man's name has also appeared noticeably in Matt's journal, written there after his incarceration in a psychiatric ward. Logan made his own edits to this notebook, some of which involved the name "Slender Man" and several drawings of him.
Slender Man may have been seen by Joshua after he gained possession of the notebook. He speaks of a business man standing right in the middle of the street, which caused him to have an accident on his motorcycle.
