Entry #34
[00:06]
I've begun to look through all the footage I took out of the safe back in the hotel.
[00:13]
All of the tapes seem to be roughly ordered, but a few are unlabeled.
[00:20]
I'm starting with the very first tape and working my way through them all.
[00:26]
I'll be uploading any significant things I find.
[00:35] The tape begins with a shot from the passenger seat of Jay's car, looking up at Jay while he drives.
[00:39] Jay begins talking to the camera while driving. "Alright. It is Wednesday, April 21st, 2010, um, it's 3:56 PM…. Right now, I am on my way to the, uh, return address, here-" Jay holds up a piece of paper on which writing can be seen, but can not be made out- "that was on the, uh, package, that was outside my door a couple days ago.
[01:06] Jay: "I've more or less been driving non-stop since I got the package and watched the tape that was in it… and I think I'm getting fairly close to the address, to the return address… I'd probably say about fifteen or twenty minutes away…"
[01:30] Jay: "I have no idea what's gonna be there, when I get there. So… it's looking a little rainy… and… I don't know why I'm still talking."
[01:44] Jay reaches down to turn the camera off.
[01:45] Cut to a shot of Jay's feet as he walks on an old sidewalk next to dead grass. Rain can be heard and his pants are wet.
[01:51] Jay turns around and makes a noise like "Ugh" as he points the camera at a house. It is a small, red brick house, with the windows and doors missing, and the front covered in graffiti.
[02:00] Jay walks onto the small porch, looks left and then right (no other buildings can be seen; nothing but more brown grass and trees in the distance), and then steps inside.
[02:10] Jay looks around the inside of the house. Nothing can be seen except a large amount of debris covering the entirety of the one large room, and more graffiti on the walls. Jay walks to the right, looking at pieces of wood and metal on the ground.
[02:20] A sound is heard to Jay's left, and he turns the camera sharply. A tarp or plastic bag that was hanging in a window was sucked out by the wind.
[02:40] Jay tries to zoom in on some graffiti but his camera goes blurry for several seconds.
[02:52] Jay looks around and at the walls and sighs.
[02:59] Jay walks toward the corner of the room. As he is about to go around it, he kicks some debris, seeming to startle himself.
[03:03] Jay looks at shelves lining the wall of a "breakfast nook"-like space off of the main room. The shelves are apparently empty.
[03:13] Jay looks through the only doorway within the house, which leads to a smaller, darker room.
[03:18] Jay hesitantly walks into the small, dark room.
[03:24] A loud bang is heard from the main room; Jay looks, and a sheet of metal that had been leaning by a window was blown over.
[03:31] From Jay's breathing, it is apparent that he was startled.
[03:44] Jay looks back in the smaller room. It is too dark to see anything but more debris and a small exit on the left side of the room that may have something hanging in it (or a partially broken door).
[03:53] Jay points the camera upward as he walks back to the front door, showing the ceiling and part of his face.
[03:58] Jay looks once more at the ground, then sighs and walks outside. The screen goes entirely white momentarily from stepping outside suddenly.
[04:02] The camera refocuses, showing the sidewalk going off, and another building, probably a house, in the distance.
[04:05] Jay points the camera down and begins to walk quickly as it is raining harder than before.
[04:07] Cut to black.
[04:09] White text on black screen:
This must have been where the return address on the package from Entry #26 lead me.
[04:16]
It looks like I was unable to find anything inside the building on this particular day, though.
[04:23]
Surely I went back again to search more thoroughly.
[04:32] Video ends.
